On January 11th, nine of Scope’s biggest cricket fans came down to the MCG for the MARS Net Training session with the Melbourne Renegades Big Bash team.

The people we support were mentored one-on-one in batting, bowling and fielding by hometown heroes Brad Hogg and Peter Nevill.

Five year old Srihan, who dreams of playing cricket for Australia was grinning ear-to-ear for the entire training session.

“I did the goodest batting I’ve ever seen. I’m so happy. This is the best!” beamed Srihan.

The Melbourne Renegades surprised the group by giving each person their own Melbourne Renegades jersey on the day.

The people we support had an absolute ball with Brad and Peter who happily posed for photos, provided autographs and stayed for a chat.

Channel 7 News also came down to the session, filmed the group in action and interviewed a few of the people we support. The report went live that night, making the group instant TV stars!

All in all, it was a day filled with many laughs and was unforgettable for the people we support.
