Scope’s A Creative Transition is a cooperative program that supports young people with a disability in the transition to employment, training or further education. The encouraging and supportive environment of this program assists participants to develop skills that will assist them with social interaction, independent living and self-confidence.

A Creative Transition has its home in Scope Lilydale in a purpose built environment. It’s close to public transport and shops.

Program Details

(From February 2016 Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

Day One: Certificate 1 in Transition Education (run by employees)

Certificate I in Transition Education is an entry level course for people facing barriers; a step-by-step pathway to success. This course will help you to:

  • Improve your self-confidence
  • Improve your reading and writing
  • Enjoy social interaction
  • Get ready for work and identify your options for further training.

The Certificate I Transition Education Qualification is made up of 10 Units, all with a focus on developing the Foundation Skills required to move through life with a level of personal success. Funding is excellent – Anyone with a self-disclosed disability OR a pension or concession card is eligible for FULL Government Funding. Some funding conditions apply and can be discussed on an individualised basis.

Day Two: Creative Projects

Scope employs content experts or ‘mentors’ with experience in screen based creative design and project development to lead participants on a journey of creative project development. Creative Transition provides a nurturing and dynamic environment where young people can build relationships of trust with skilled and experienced digital arts professionals

All software, internet access and technology support is provided. While there will be a small number of laptops available it is advisable that a participant has their own laptop (Mac or PC) so they can also work at home. If you require personal support, this can be discussed on an individualised basis.

Cost $8,060 per annum (Futures funding can be used for this program)
