Leading disability services provider Scope will host a demonstration an ‘all abilities’ version of boccia in celebration of International Day of People with Disability on Friday 2nd December at the Hargreaves Mall.

Scope has been hosting accessible boccia in conjunction with Boccia Victoria Association, with an experienced facilitator. A popular community sport, boccia was recently featured in the recent Paralympic Games.

Mary Sullivan, Scope Manager, Loddon & Mallee said, “Scope is committed to enabling people with a disability to participate in their communities. This event challenges the boundaries and possibilities for people with a disability, and highlights the need for more inclusion in the wider community.”

“Scope works with corporate and community organisations to assist them to become accessible and inclusive. Everyone has huge role to play in creating a truly inclusive and welcoming society.”

In addition to the boccia demonstration, Scope customers will also be selling hand made jewellery, and displaying artworks created by Scope’s Golden Artspace participants.

Scope’s mission is to enable people with a disability to live as equal and empowered citizens, and aligns with the key aim of International Day of People with Disability; to encourage support for the dignity, rights and well-being of people with disability.
