A group of grommets supported by Scope in Barwon made their annual trek to the iconic Bells Beach to watch the opening of one of the greatest surfing events in the world, the Rip Curl Pro. Everything went right this year as the weather was a cracker and it was hats and sunscreen all round (sorry Melbourne readers). Not only did the weather deliver, but the surfers were also going off as there were a number of champions on show.

Everyone made sure to get a good spot from which to see the action

The Rip Curl Pro always makes sure to put on a great event and a number of accessible vantage points mean people are never far from the action and no one misses a barrel or wipeout. One of the best parts of going to the event is the possibility of casually running into a surfing champion and getting your photo taken with them – how sick!
