How can I communicate at the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?

The Geelong and Colac NDIS offices have been working towards becoming communication accessible

The NDIS has been working to make sure more people can successfully communicate at the NDIS offices in the Barwon region of Victoria.

In April 2016, the Barwon NDIS Geelong and Colac offices became the first NDIS offices in Australia to be awarded the Communication Access Symbol®.

As part of this process, the NDIA has developed a set of communication boards in consultation with Scope. Individuals with communication difficulties can use these boards to get their message across to NDIS staff.

The communication boards that are now available at every NDIS office are:

Reception boards

Three communication boards are available at reception are:

Becoming a participant boards

Three communication boards have been developed to help NDIS staff and people who have communication difficulties communicate about becoming a participant. There is a:
