Programs built around you
Programs of Support is a flexible approach to Social Connections that gives participants more choice in the activities and experiences they take part in, by signing up for a six-month program. Through the My Program Choices process, participants can choose activities that match their interests, goals, routines and lifestyle while building connections, developing skills and increasing community participation.
Designed to support personalised planning and greater flexibility, Programs of Support allows participants to work with their support network to create a program that suits their needs and preferences. From creative and wellbeing activities to community outings and social experiences, participants can explore opportunities that matter most to them.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Social Connections day program?
A Social Connections day program is a structured daytime support service that may help people with disability stay socially active, engage in meaningful activities, and connect with their community. Programs typically offer a mix of activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, fitness, music, and community outings, with the aim of supporting each participant's individual goals and interests.
Who can attend a Social Connections day program?
Social Connections day programs are generally available to NDIS participants who have funding for community participation or social and community support included in their plan. Suitability will depend on individual circumstances, support needs, and the specific program. Whether funding for a Social Connections day program is included in a plan is determined by the NDIA based on each participant's individual situation.
How are Social Connections day programs funded through the NDIS?
Social Connections day programs are generally funded under the Core Supports budget in an NDIS plan, under the Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation category. The level of funding available depends on each individual's plan and what the NDIA determines to be reasonable and necessary. A support coordinator or local area coordinator may be able to help you understand what is included in your current plan.
What is the difference between a Social Connections day program and community participation support?
Community participation support is a broad NDIS funding category that covers a range of activities supporting social and community engagement, which can be delivered one-on-one or in a group. A Social Connections day program is one way this funding may be used — it typically involves attending a structured program at a set location or as part of an organised group on a regular basis. The most suitable option will depend on each participant's individual goals and circumstances.
What can happen at a Scope Social Connections day program?
At a Scope Social Connections day program, participants may take part in a range of activities based around their individual goals and interests, which could include arts and crafts, cooking, music, fitness, volunteering, and community outings. Activities and availability may vary by location, and programs are designed to be flexible and person-centred.
Who are Scope's Social Connections day programs designed for?
Scope's Social Connections day programs are designed for NDIS participants who want to stay active, engage in meaningful activities, and connect with others during the day. Programs are inclusive and aim to welcome participants with a range of disabilities and support needs. The suitability of a particular program will depend on individual circumstances and available capacity at each location.
