Raising Expectations

Scope is proud to be a major sponsor at the third Annual Virtual Disability Conference 2022

VDC 2022 (1)

Scope is proud to partner with University of Melbourne, National Disability Services, and the Australian Federation of Disability Organisations in support of the third National Virtual Disability Conference.

‘Raising Expectations,’ will explore the ‘soft bigotry of low expectations’ experienced by many people with disability.

This fully online conference is for people with a disability, family members and carers, their representative organisations, disability service providers, staff, researchers, and policymakers.

At Scope we believe in inclusion and opportunity. The conference will be Auslan interpreted with live captioning. Furthermore, being virtual enables access to quality information and evidence for the broadest possible audience.

As the keynote speaker, Senator Jordon Steele-John will share his lived experiences of disability, passion for community campaigning and insight into the political system.

As a premier disability conference, the program includes more than 30 presentations, Q&A sessions, and poster presentations across the day.

Scope’s own Georgia Burn, communication access consultant with CIRC and PhD student, will be presenting.

Register today and be a part of these important conversations.
