Supporting more people to achieve their goals

Scope is excited to have been selected as the preferred new owner of Disability Services Australia (DSA), supporting more than 1,500 customers and employing more than 1,600 people in key regions of New South Wales, including Metropolitan Sydney.

Scope was selected for its highly-regarded reputation as national leader of disability services with the right skills and experience to build an exciting future with DSA.

“As one of the largest and most trusted disability providers in Australia, we are excited to support even more people with disability to achieve their goals, now, in NSW,” said Dr Jennifer Fitzgerald AM, Chief Executive Officer, Scope Aust.

“Today marks a significant milestone in our history. Drawing on more than 70 years’ experience supporting some of the most vulnerable in the community, by joining with DSA, we will strengthen our position as one of the largest national providers of disability services.

Most importantly for DSA customers, they can have confidence and surety in the high-quality support services and customer-focused mission of Scope; we will support them to thrive through choice and control to live as equal and empowered citizens.”

Following Scope’s recent expansion into NSW, with aligned mission and values, the combination of Scope and DSA is a logical fit. Recognising the strong foundations of DSA, Scope will work in partnership to build an exciting future.

“Our immediate priority will be to ensure seamless continuity of support for our new customers, families, and staff. We will approach this guided by the Scope Approach, a set of strongly embedded values that define our organisation. Foremost of these is “See the Person” – this is the heart of Scope, where we see everyone, regardless of disability.

We will listen, learn and collaborate – bringing the best of both our organisations together. It’s an exciting time,” said Dr Fitzgerald.
