Have your say on the Code of Conduct and registration standards for Victorian disability workers

Consultation is now open on the regulations and registration standards that are proposed for workers in the disability workforce.

Victoria’s Disability Worker Regulation Scheme (the Scheme) is established under the Disability Service Safeguards Act 2018.

The Scheme is designed to protect people using disability services. Voluntary registration will ensure registered disability workers have suitable skills, experience and qualifications to provide safe services and quality support.

The Scheme also introduces powers to regulate unregistered workers through a complaints and investigation function.

The Victorian Government and the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria are keen to hear from people with disability, family and friends as well as disability workers, employers and interested community members to shape the proposed standards.
