Creating a space for reflection, connection, and joy — thanks to your generosity.

In June, a quiet celebration took place at Scope’s Bellarine Highway home in Leopold, a heartfelt tribute to two much-loved members of the community, Mark (Micky) and Sam.

Thanks to generous donations made in their memory by their families, a meaningful project has come to life: a new outdoor pergola where residents, staff, and loved ones can relax, connect, and enjoy peaceful moments together.

After thoughtful discussions between residents and staff, it was decided that creating a calm and accessible garden space would be the perfect way to honour Mark and Sam. The pergola, completed in March, includes an accessible ramp and extended decking to ensure everyone - including wheelchair users can enjoy the space together.

On June 28, friends, family, residents, and staff gathered for a special morning tea to unveil a small memorial plaque, a simple but lasting reminder of two lives that meant so much to so many.

This beautiful addition to the Bellarine Highway home was made possible through philanthropy and through the love and thoughtfulness behind each gift. It’s more than just a structure; it’s a legacy of care, joy, and community that will be felt for years to come.
