Scope's 2024 NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Audit results are back, and we have passed with flying colours! Scope was assessed as compliant with over 95% of activities, with only five areas of minor non-conformity identified for remediation.

On announcing our audit outcomes, Deb Benger, Chief Quality Safeguarding & Practice Officer said, “This achievement is a direct reflection of the hard work, passion, and teamwork of every member of the Scope team who came together to deliver exceptional audit results."

"This result was achieved by our frontline teams—disability workers, house supervisors, site managers—along with our enabling and administrative teams, working together towards an aligned goal and enabled us to prove our ability to provide safe and high-quality support for both the people we support and those who support them.” Deb Benger

Compliance with Elements of Best Practice Awards!

In addition to this impressive result, we have earned two prestigious ratings of Compliance with Elements of Best Practice, showcasing where we are leading the way and delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.

Inclusion of People with Disability in Governance & Operations

We’ve received commendation for our strong focus on involving people with disabilities in decision-making at every level. From our Board and governance committees to the implementation of our Disability Employment Strategy and Disability Action Plan, our CX Tracker feedback project, and the Client Advisory Panel, we are committed to ensuring people with a disability have opportunities for inclusion, and their voices are heard and acted upon across all our initiatives and operations.

Creating a safe and supportive environment

Scope has received recognition for our innovative programs that keep clients safe and healthy. Two standout initiatives include:

  • Stop and Watch Tool: A game-changer for monitoring clients’ health, ensuring staff can spot any deterioration early and take immediate action. Accommodation supervisors have now been trained to identify and recognise signs of potential health or pain decline. In these situations, a pulse oximetry device is used to measure breathing and oxygen saturation, and a thermometer is used to check temperature, providing an accurate assessment of a client's current health and how rapidly it may be deteriorating. This information is communicated promptly and in language that healthcare professionals understand, ensuring timely and prioritised responses from paramedics, hospitals, and other healthcare providers.
  • Hospital Passport: This vital document ensures our client's specific needs are always communicated during hospital stays, providing crucial information to clinical teams to deliver the best care possible throughout admission to discharge.

A huge congratulations to the Quality, Practice and Safeguarding team who have been leading this work.
