Scope Australia Expands their services for the Gippsland & Baw Baw Shire Communities

Scope Australia is proud to announce the upcoming launch of our refreshed and larger Social Connections service, with capacity to provide for people with complex disabilities and needs . Opening in early 2026 in Warragul and serving the community in the Gippsland region and Baw Baw Shire. This exciting expansion builds on our rich history of over 75 years supporting the disability community, creating spaces where people feel valued, included, and empowered. Our commitment to the Warragul community and surrounding areas remains as strong as ever, ensuring locals have access to more opportunities for connection, growth, and meaningful participation in everyday life.

What Is the Social Connections Service?

Social Connections, the name says it all, connecting our community with each other and with the wider community, creating opportunities for people with disabilities to connect, grow, and participate in the community in meaningful ways. A disability day program with a difference working with individuals to build confidence, strengthen social skills, and develop the independence needed to enjoy richer, more fulfilling lives.

Programs often include a mix of engaging activities such as group workshops, creative sessions, community outings, and recreational events. Participants can also take part in skill-building opportunities, from everyday living skills to hobbies and interests, all while forming friendships and enjoying the support of peers and trained staff. This blend of social interaction and personal development makes the service a vital stepping stone to greater community inclusion.


What’s New in the Warragul Expansion

The Warragul Disability Services centre in Warragul, brings an expansion of services to Gippsland and Baw Baw, an exciting new chapter for Scope Australia’s Social Connections and Therapy service. The upgraded Warragul facility brings Scope’s vision for a welcoming and contemporary adult learning space. Scope’s Offering larger, more modern spaces designed for comfort, accessibility, and vibrant group activities.

Disability services provider Scope is reimagining the Percy Street, Warragul site with new facilities that improve accessibility and participation opportunities for people who use the service, including those with complex needs and complex disabilities.

The soon to be renovated spaces are aligned to Scope's new design guidelines which ensure spaces promote dignity, accessibility, and adult learning in a welcoming and contemporary environment. The upgrade forms part of Scope's broader work to strengthen its Social Connections day program services across Victoria and New South Wales to deliver progressive programs where every individual can continue to participate in their community and thrive.

With this expansion, Scope can welcome more participants from across the wider Gippsland region, ensuring that more people have access to the benefits of connection, skill-building, and community involvement.

Additionally, new program offerings have been developed to reflect local interests and community culture, ranging from creative arts and cooking workshops to local outings and recreational events; making the service more engaging and relevant than ever.
