Volunteering at Scope

You can make a positive impact to the lives of people with a disability by volunteering with Scope

Our volunteer programs can be an incredibly rewarding experience for you, but it makes a real difference to the people we support.

By volunteering at Scope you can make a real difference to the lives of children and adults with a disability. It is also lots of fun!   We support each of our volunteers through an induction program and with ongoing training, guidance, debriefing and insurance cover.

At Scope we see the person not the disability and it is our aim to share our mission throughout the community:

to enable each person we support to live as an equal and empowered citizen.

Volunteering is a great way to:

  • Be part of your community and help others
  • Build your work experience and career opportunities
  • Share your knowledge and expertise
  • Learn new skills
  • Have fun and meet new people

Volunteering is good for you and the community.

We do require that any volunteers who are under the age of 16 are accompanied by an adult.

In the interest and wellbeing of our clients, employees and other volunteers we also require that our volunteers hold  some checks.  Depending on where you are volunteering and for how long, we may ask you to provide:

  • A current police check
  • A Working with Children check
  • Approval for your name to be checked against the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme list

However, do not worry!  We will provide you with all the information you need to obtain these checks!
