On Sunday 13 October, Scope Team Ability were ready and raring to run, walk and ride at the 2019 Melbourne Marathon. It was our biggest turn out yet, with over 40 people participating, supporting and cheering the team on.
It was great to see Scope Team Ability founder, Ben Hill complete the 10km – walking the last lap inside the MCG, and our biggest event was the 3km walk with 17 Scope Team Ability participants.
Donna and her support person Michelle entered the 5km event for the first time. Donna exceeded her expectations, walking over 300m of the final lap in the MCG. Donna had been training hard leading up to the event and was thrilled on the day and can’t wait to do it all again!
Entering the MCG at the final stage of the race is an amazing experience. The crowd are cheering you on and there is a great feeling of accomplishment when you cross the finish line. We would certainly encourage you to get on board next time!
We’d like to thank every member of Scope Team Ability, their families, carers, supporters and those of you who donated to our team!
