Advocacy and Support

The Disability Royal Commission has put in place a number of counselling services for people with disability, their families and carers.

Our approach to the Royal Commission will be consistent with the Scope Approach, and our values: See the Person, Do it Together, Do it Right and Do it Better. We will be open, honest, cooperative and support our customers and their families, staff, donors and members throughout this process.

Blue Knot Foundation 
Blue Knot Foundation will be available over the holiday period for people with disability, their families and supporters, and anyone affected by the Disability Royal Commission. 
The Service operates 9:00am to 6:00pm weekdays and 9:00am to 5:00pm weekends and public holidays (AEDT), including Christmas Day.

The Disability Royal Commission Legal Service
The Disability Royal Commission Legal Service is a free national legal service that provides advice to people who want to tell their story to the Royal Commission. The service provides free legal advice to people with disability, and their families, carers, supporters and advocates. For more information call 1800 771 800 or visit the website. 
Advocacy services 
Commonwealth-funded advocacy support services are available under the National Disability Advocacy Program (NDAP)
NDAP advocates will be able to:
  • Protect your rights
  • Help you say what you want to say
  • Provide advice in your best interest
  • Act on your behalf to get the supports you need.
