Dietitians will now be better equipped to deliver the best possible nutrition care to people with disability.

Scope’s has partnered with Dietitians Australia to develop an eLearning module as part of their Introduction to Disability and Inclusion for Dietitians Evergreen course. Funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services, this course is designed to support dietitians to improve their confidence and skill working with people with disability.

The module focuses on communication, aiming to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to recognise communication as a fundamental human right. Learners will gain an understanding of how communication disability is experienced in relation to the World Health Organisation’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). They will also be made aware of the tools and strategies used by people with communication disabilities, and how to effectively communicate with people with both expressive and receptive communication disabilities. Learners will also learn about the importance of communication access for people with disability.

The module is available for Dietitians registered with Dietitians Australia. Access the module here.
