Today, Scope announced its endorsement for a constitutionally enshrined First Nations Voice to Parliament.
Scope, one of Australia’s largest disability service providers, outlined its commitment to educating the people it supports, their families, employees and the wider community about the importance of the Voice.
Kate MacRae, Scope’s Chief Executive Officer, said the Uluru Statement from the Heart reflects Scope’s values, and that the Voice would lead to better outcomes for First Nations people.
“We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart and believe in the importance of listening to and acknowledging the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People,” Kate said.
“The Uluru Statement from the Heart aligns strongly with our own purpose and vision of seeing people belong, thrive and live their dreams.
“As an organisation that strives for inclusion and equity, we are committed to sharing information and accessible resources to help our people better understand the Voice to Parliament.”
In demonstration of this support, Scope also recently joined the Allies for Uluru Coalition, a coalition of more than 180 community sector organisations championing the constitutional change for the rights of First Nations people.
