Championing accessibility and inclusion for everybody

Scope has a proud history of supporting inclusion in sport and business. For 75 years, we’ve helped people in Victoria living with disability to belong and thrive in the community, whatever their passion – and there’s no greater passion for many Victorians than the footy!

As most Aussies know, that passion extends beyond borders, and we’re proud to share that history with our clients and colleagues from New South Wales. Together, we’re partnering with the Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) to sponsor the AFL’s Disability Inclusion Round 23, from 18-20 August this year.

The live broadcast will include an AUSLAN and sensory call and include both live and pre-recorded pre-game interviews, featuring the founders of Scope’s Balloon Football League. You will also hear from Lisa Evans, Chief Operating Officer of Scope in Victoria, about Scope’s vison to reduce barriers to participation in community sport.

So, if you’re an AFL fan, or just someone who wants to know how we can do better to be make sport more inclusive and accessible, make sure you tune into SEN during Round 23 and follow SEN and Scope socials for more ways to connect with the Disability Inclusion Round.

And don’t forget to pick up your copy of the AFL Record for an Easy Read communication tool for kids, as well as a feature on Balloon Footy!

Yes: A guide to talking about the Voice referendum

Australians will soon be asked to vote yes or no to change the Australian Constitution in the Voice referendum. It’s an historical moment for all of us, but most importantly for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
