Balloon Football League
Balloon Football League (BFL) is a version of Aussie Rules that has been modified to suit the needs of people with a disability. The game first started in 1995 by three men with a disability. Today, it’s played by over 100 people across Victoria.
BFL is played using wheelchairs and a giant balloon on an indoor basketball or netball court. We play in teams of five and are always looking for new players and volunteers.
At Balloon Football you can:
- Get fit and learn new skills
- Make new friends
- Be part of a team in a competitive league
- Take on leadership roles and connect to your local community
There is a junior version of BFL too. It can be available upon request for children in special development schools.
Inclusive Hockey
Scope in partnership with Hockey Victoria has launched a modified version of hockey. Hockey is a fun and engaging sport which can be appropriately modified to cater for all abilities.
At hockey you can:
- Learn how to play hockey
- Have fun with team mates and friends
- Be supported to play with modified equipment
Ice skating
Interested in trying ice skating? Scope provides opportunities for people with disability to hit the ice in multiple locations in Melbourne.
Our ice skating activities are scheduled throughout the year, with volunteers on hand to provide support if you use a wheelchair or modified ice skating equipment.
Scope’s activities are available within the community inclusion membership fee funded through the NDIS or self-funding.
