How Scope can help you understand the NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports people with disability by funding services to help you live independently, achieve your goals, and stay connected to your community.

At Scope, we’re here to help you understand how it works, and how you can use it to get the right support, your way.

What is the NDIS?

What the NDIS offers

With a personalised NDIS plan, you can expect:

  • More choice in the supports you receive
  • More control and flexibility in how and when supports are delivered
  • A lifetime approach that adapts as your needs and goals evolve
  • Greater focus on early intervention and long-term outcomes

Who is eligible for the NDIS?

To access the NDIS, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Between 9 and 65 years old when you apply
  • Residency: An Australian citizen, permanent resident, or Protected Special Category Visa holder
  • Disability: A permanent disability that significantly affects your daily life and requires support
