From shy to shining – Martin’s story

“Scope will teach you how to find work. I learned how to present myself and how to be clear on what I’m saying. Before my first interview, I was really worried. During the interview, I was dressed up polite and I talked about my responses clearly. By the end of the it, the interviewer said, ‘We like this positive attitude of yours!"

From job-seeker to job-keeper

"They taught me how to make a resume and cover letter, and how to use SEEK to look for jobs. I applied for four jobs and landed my current role as a crossing guard. I like my job because it gives me something worthwhile to do and gets me out of the house every day."

Jorja’s journey to career success in early childcare

Jorja says one of the best parts of joining the DES program was learning that she wasn’t alone in her struggles in finding work as a person with a disability.

“I learned in DES that there are other people like me who have a difficult time finding a job. Without Scope, I couldn’t have found one.”
