Our Commitment to Participant Safety and Wellbeing Skip to main content

On 15 July 2025, Scope (Aust) received compliance notices from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission outlining areas for improvement in some of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services.

The notices relate to specific systems and processes which are designed to improve consistency, governance and documentation. These are important matters, many of which we had identified and started addressing through our regular internal reviews. The matter does not relate in any way to the activities of our people, who do an amazing job day-in, day-out supporting our clients and their families.

The work we’ve been undertaking includes:

  • Improving record keeping and care plan documentation, ensuring consistency across all sites.
  • Strengthening training for employees who provide complex supports.
  • Fully implementing our new medication management system.
  • Ensuring all employees understand how to report incidents and follow correct procedures.
  • Supporting employees to use our sector-leading Stop and Watch tool, which was awarded a rating of Compliance with Elements of Best Practice by the NDIS audit in December 2024.

We continue to work closely with the NDIS Commission and we’re on track to address the matters raised within the relevant timeframe. We are committed as always to keep delivering to the high standards set by the NDIS Commission, and those we set for ourselves.

We thank our clients, families, and partners for their ongoing support as we continue this work.
