Scope Appoints Lisa Evans as New Chief Executive Officer Skip to main content

Scope is delighted to announce the appointment of Lisa Evans as Chief Executive Officer, effective 13 October 25.

Lisa brings more than three decades of leadership experience across the healthcare and disability sectors, most recently as Chief Operating Officer at Scope.

A Registered Nurse with a Graduate Diploma in Community Health, Lisa’s career has included leadership roles in both public and private health, including Director of Nursing at St John of God Berwick Hospital, CEO of St John of God Accord and Group Director of Community Services. She joined Scope in 2023, where she has been instrumental in strengthening service delivery and driving operational excellence across one of Australia’s largest providers of disability services.

Lisa’s leadership is shaped not only by her professional experience but also by her lived experience as parent of a young man with disability, giving her a deep appreciation of the life-changing role that quality disability support plays in the lives of individuals and families.

Scope Board Chair Sanchia Aranda said,

“Lisa brings a powerful blend of professional expertise, compassion, and lived experience. She understands the realities of the disability sector from every angle, as a clinician, a leader, and a parent. Her appointment represents a strong balance between stability and renewal. She brings a deep understanding of our organisation and our purpose, the people we support, and our staff, as well as a clear mandate to lead with fresh energy, innovation, and forward thinking. The Board is confident that under Lisa’s leadership, Scope will continue to build a strong, inclusive future for the people and communities we support.”

Lisa said she is honoured to take on the role:

“I’m proud to lead an organisation with such a strong history and purpose. Having been part of Scope for the past two and a half years, I’ve seen first-hand the passion, skill, and commitment of our people. I look forward to continuing our work to deliver high-quality, person-centred services that support people with disability to belong and thrive.”

Lisa succeeds Kate MacRae, and her appointment follows a national search led by the Scope Board, with representation from our employees with disability, along with our Client and Family and Supporters Advisory Panels.
