Scope secures new Warragul site for Social Connections service Skip to main content

Scope is excited to announce the purchase of the “Mawarra” site in Percy Street Warragul from fellow community organisation Knoxbrooke, securing the future of its Social Connections service and reinforcing a long-term commitment to individuals and families in the Baw Baw region.

This milestone follows an extensive search for a site that would better meet the needs of Scope clients, families, and staff. After considering several options, none of which were ideal in terms of suitability or lease arrangements, the opportunity to purchase the Knoxbrooke Centre site presented itself. The result is a solution that will benefit the community for years to come.

“This is more than just a property purchase, it’s about making sure our clients continue to have a place where they feel welcome, supported, and connected,” said Kate MacRae, CEO of Scope.

“For our clients and families, this new location ensures that we can keep delivering the services and experiences that matter most, in a space designed for that purpose.”

The site, which is in good condition and located close to the town centre, offers more space and greater accessibility for clients. The site also offers us the potential to significantly increase the numbers of clients and staff, as well as the opportunity to further develop our local service offerings and deliver other Scope programs into Warragul.

Scope has a long history in the Warragul community and this purchase reflects their belief in long-term sustainability and in creating continuity of care for the community.

“Our clients are individuals with unique strengths, needs and goals,” added Kate MacRae, Scope’s CEO. “This new site will allow us to continue supporting them in a way that reflects that.”

Once Knoxbrooke vacates the site at the end of August, Scope plans to undertake some minor upgrades to make the space even more welcoming and functional before the official move. It's our aim to have clients and staff moved into the new site by the end of the year.

Scope will provide regular updates and opportunities for involvement to ensure the move is smooth and positive for all.
