Finding love

Paul and Tracy

Two years ago, Scope client Paul, approached his support team with a clear goal: he wanted to find love. Paul’s ambition sent Kristy Russell, Site Manager, and her team into action.

The team went in search of dating services for Paul to try. “We supported Paul to try a couple of different services,” Kristy says. “It took a while to find one that Paul felt comfortable with, but eventually we found the perfect fit.”

Paul was determined to achieve his goal, and luckily the team located a group called the “Rock N Rollers” – a dating service tailored to people living with disability. That’s where Paul met Tracy.

After 12 months of “officially dating”, Paul and Tracy shared their love at a commitment ceremony, surrounded by friends and family. The joyful celebration went off without a hitch, and now they hope to head off on holiday or possibly move in together.

Planes, trains, ferries, and automobiles

After returning from a whirlwind adventure, Scope client, Stuart, is already looking forward to his next trip. Last year, Stuart and his sister Kelly, headed off to Sydney to see all the things he loves - trains, planes, animals and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo!

Stuart and Kelly started out with a first-class train trip, then headed for a stay at the Taronga Zoo Wildlife Retreat which came with a view of the Harbour, and lots of native wildlife; along with a resident koala, which Kelly and Stuart nicknamed ‘George.’

At the zoo, they spotted a celebrity! “Pete Murray was performing at the zoo that night, so they got a bonus concert!” Emma Tankosic, House Supervisor, said.

Stuart was able to share his adventure with Emma via FaceTime.

“It was great to be able to kind of join in,” Emma says. “They returned with very special memories, and they are not finished yet! They’re already planning their next adventure together.”
