Co-research is research carried out “with” or “by” people with intellectual disability rather than “to,” “about” or “for” them. Genuine collaboration in co-research involves all researchers actively and equally participating at every stage of the research process, from choosing the topic and designing the study, to collecting and analysing data, and finally, sharing the findings.
For this research, a research course was developed and delivered eight clients with intellectual disability. The course was about what research is and how to carry out research. After the course was completed, interviews were conducted with some of the participants to learn about the impact of the course.
