Scope is a proud recipient of the Level the Field 2025-2027 Grant Program. The program is delivered by Leisure Networks in partnership with the Victorian Government to help sports and community organisations strengthen and expand job opportunities for people with disability in regional Victoria.

Level the Field aims to increase support for more people with disability to join the sport and recreation workforce in paid and volunteer roles.

Scope's Community Inclusion team will deliver the Community Inclusion Workforce Pathways Project from 2026 to 2027.

The project will create new paid and volunteer opportunities for people with disability within Scope's Inclusive Sports programs, including Balloon Football and Inclusive Hockey, across Bendigo, Warragul and Barwon.

Through this initiative, Scope will develop, trial and embed a structured Community Inclusion Workforce Model, creating pathways for people with disability, including those with multiple and complex support requirements, to participate as volunteers and paid co-facilitators within community sport programs.

A key feature of the project is a Lived Experience Consultation process. Participants with disability will help shape the design of roles, recruitment processes, training and accessibility supports, ensuring the workforce model reflects people's strengths, goals and support needs. Project activities

The Community Inclusion Workforce Pathways Project will:

  • Recruit up to nine people with disability to participate in the Lived Experience Consultation process.
  • Recruit and train three paid Community Inclusion Co-facilitators and nine volunteers through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
  • Expand Inclusive Hockey programs into Geelong and Warragul.
  • Deliver tailored facilitation training in partnership with Hockey Victoria, building leadership capabilities, sport delivery skills and transferable employment skills.

By creating accessible workforce pathways and strengthening inclusive sporting opportunities, the project will support people with disability to build confidence, develop skills and take on valued roles within their communities.

The Community Inclusion Workforce Pathways Project is proudly funded by Sport and Recreation Victoria.
